The Swiss-Czech Cooperation Programme II is part of Switzerland’s second contribution, which aims to reduce economic and social disparities among selected European Union Member States, including the Czech Republic. The framework agreement between Switzerland and the Czech Republic was signed on 9 June 2023.

In this programme, the Ministry of the Environment acts as the implementing agency for the “Sustainable Tourism and Biodiversity Enhancement” programme. The programme focuses on the protection of biodiversity and addresses the root causes of its decline, particularly human interference with ecosystems (such as landscape fragmentation) and their overexploitation, for example through tourism. The main objective is to reduce pressure on ecosystems and support their stability and recovery.
